Fire Adapted Communities

The Fire Adapted Communities Network (FAC Net) is a nationwide network that works with communities to create a more wildfire-resilient future. A “fire adapted community” consists of informed and prepared citizens collaboratively planning and taking action to safely co-exist with wildland fire. Deschutes County is a Pilot Community which means it is an area that has committed to implementing, assessing and sharing the work that they are doing to increase their communities’ resilience to wildfire. Project Wildfire plays a coordination role as the HUB organization.
