Fire Preparedness with local 6th graders

La Pine Middle School 6th grade Science Class learns about Fire Preparedness and Wildfire Prevention

On May 28, 2017, Discover Your Forest and many community forest and fire partners associated with the Greater La Pine Basin Cohesive Strategy project participated in a La Pine Community Event last week. Students showcased some amazing videos, board games, artwork, and community outreach ideas around creating defensible space, forest restoration, and fire-adapted plants and animals. Over 140 people, plus Smoky the Bear, showed wonderful support towards the students. We are very proud of the work of our local students, teachers, and community partners.
