Our Community
Our Connection, Our Commitment
A unique connection to our forest.
The Central Oregon landscape is an integral part of who we are, what we do, and how we act. Whether you’re a year-round resident or a visitor to Central Oregon, we share a “sense of place” that ties us together and to this landscape. We are passionate for the outdoors, the forest, the rivers, and the quality of life they offer.
A community of stewards.
This connection inspires us to be more than consumers of our forest. It inspires us to action as forest stewards and has brought us together as a community under the umbrella of the Deschutes Collaborative Forest Project.
A sense of belonging.
Our vision is to restore our forests and our communities, and to write a new story about the inseparable link between the health and vibrancy of the two. The DCFP has grown from a grass-roots movement to a thriving collaborative force that recognizes all the values and interests represented within the community. Through this process the bonds that tie us together and to the landscape grow ever stronger.

On September 29th the DCFP hosted a Restoration Celebration to introduce the work of the Collaborative to our community. The historic Skyliner Lodge provided the perfect backdrop for a Restoration Hike and Bike Ride. Followed by great food and music, the crowd heard about the need for restoration and how the Collaborative is helping to put our forest on a path to health and resilience.
Tumalo Creek - the perfect backdrop for the Restoration Celebration and just one of the many values of the Deschutes Collaborative Forest.
